TEMPLETON- RECONSTRUCTION OF ROUTE 202, FROM PHILLIPSTON T.L. TO WINCHENDON T.L.

The work to be done consists of full depth reconstruction and cold planing Route 202 in the Town of Templeton. The project begins at the Templeton-Phillipston Town Line and runs in a northeasterly direction for 2.3 miles, to the intersection of Route 202 and Route 68 North. This section will be reconstructed full depth. The intersection of Route 202 and Route 2A will be reconstructed and a new alignment will be created so that Route 2A intersects Route 202 at a 90 degree angle. Route 202 will be widened in this section to accommodate a left turn only lane. The project then continues in a northeasterly direction for 1.2 miles, through the center of Templeton (including 1500 feet of Town-owned roadway), then continues 1 mile to the Winchendon-Templeton Town Line. This section includes cold planing and resurfacing with hot mix asphalt pavement. The total length of the project is approximately 4.8 miles. Additional work includes but is not limited to the reconstruction and replacement of drainage structures and culverts, resurfacing of a portion of sidewalk, installation of wheelchair ramps, and wetland replication.
