Project Description:
LAKEVILLE- MIDDLEBOROUGH- RELOCATION OF ROUTE 79 (RHODE ISLAND ROAD)
This project consists of the relocation of Route 79 across land formerly belonging to the Lakeville State Hospital and now proposed for commercial development. The .5 mile segment of new infrastructure will relocate Route 79 away from the I-495 ramps and facilitate the signalization of those ramps to improve the overall operation and safety of Exit 4 in Middleborough located approximately .25 miles distant. Work also includes installation of signals on Route 105 and coordination with CANPRO development and the MBTA to address needs at the Lakeville Train Station.
