LEICESTER- ROADWAY RECONSTRUCTION INCLUDING SEWER AND WATER WORK ON A SECTION OF ROUTE 9 (MAIN STREET) PHASE II

The proposed project begins approximately 700 feet east of the intersection of Route 9 and Route 56 and continues westerly on Route 9 for approximately 3.0 miles, ending at the Spencer Town Line. The Town of Leicester will install sewer and water lines as part of the contract. Route 9 be will be realigned and straightened in the area of Leicester Country Club for a distance of approximately 1200 feet to improve sight distance and allow for safer travel. Work at the intersection of Route 9 and Route 56 will include geometric improvements, roadway widening, and traffic signal updates to increase safety, capacity, and efficiency. The remainder of Route 9 and the old Route 9 around Breezy Bend will also be resurfaced.
