Project Description:
NORTHBOROUGH- TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION, ROUTE 20 AT DAVIS STREET INCLUDING TIMES SQUARE
This project improves the geometry and traffic signals for Route 20 at West Main Street and Route 20 at Davis Street in Northborough. Geometric improvements involve minor widening of Route 20, realignment of West Main Street, development of new left turn lanes, and provision for sidewalks and pedestrian ramps. Drainage improvements include catch basins with deep sumps and other improvements to existing conditions. Traffic improvements include fully actuated traffic signal controls at each intersection with wire loop detection on all approaches, including high speed dilemma zone detection on Route 20. Mast arms and overhead signal faces are proposed for all approaches providing greater visibility. Tunnel visors, back plates and 12” lenses will aid in directing and enhancing the signal indications. New pavement markings and signing upgrades are provided.
