BERNARDSTON- RESURFACING & RELATED WORK ON ROUTE 5 & 10

The work to be done consists of resurfacing and related work on a section of Routes 5 & 10 in Bernardston. The project begins at the Greenfield/Bernardston town line and proceeds northerly approximately 5.9 miles to the Vermont state line. Also to be resurfaced is the section of Route 10 (Church Street) beginning at the point where Route 10 splits from Route 5 and proceeding easterly approximately 2700 feet to the bridge that carries Route 10 over Interstate 91. Minor shoulder widening will be done from where Routes 5 and 10 split at Church Street, south to near West Mountain Road. Also, the northerly intersection of Burrows Turnpike and Route 5 will be re-aligned so that Burrows Turnpike enters Route 5 at a 90 degree angle. In addition, the sidewalk along the west side of the widened section will be reconstructed and improvements will be made to the drainage system.
