CHESTER- BRIDGE PRESERVATION, C-11-013, MAPLE STREET OVER THE WEST BRANCH OF THE WESTFIELD RIVER

This project involves the rehabilitation of the Maple Street Bridge, which is a Pratt thru-truss structure that spans the West Branch of the Westfield River. The bridge has been closed since 1978. It is listed on the state and national historic registers. The restored bridge will be designed to carry at least H-10 loads. It will have one 12-foot travel lane, a 1.5 foot shoulder and a cantilevered 5 foot sidewalk provided on the eastern side.
