AGAWAM- RECONSTRUCTION OF ROUTE 159 (MAIN STREET) FROM CONNECTICUT S.L. TO ROUTE 75, INCLUDES REHAB OF A-05-009

The Agawam Traffic and Safety Improvement Project is located along the Main Street (Route 159) corridor and consists of seven improvement locations. At Location 1 and 2 the roadway will be widened minimally, then repaved. At Location 2 the traffic signal at the intersection of River Road and Main Street will be reconstructed with all new mast arms, foundations, loops, cable, and signal posts. The major improvements to Main Street at Locations 3, 4, 5, and 6 include improving the existing traffic signals, widening, resurfacing, and re-striping Main Street, and building an Emergency Vehicle Traffic Signal at the Agawam Fire Station. At Location 7, fully-actuated signals are proposed.
