Project Description:
ALFORD- GREAT BARRINGTON- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, A-06-003, ALFORD ROAD OVER ALFORD BROOK
The purpose of this project is to replace the existing structurally deficient bridge structure carrying Alford Road over the Alford Brook in the Towns of Alford and Great Barrington. The existing bridge, which was built in 1937, has a curb-to-curb width of 26 feet and will be maintained by the proposed structure. The proposed bridge will be constructed of butted concrete deck beams supported on integral abutments. The demolition of the existing structure and construction of the new bridge will utilize staged construction.
