Project Description:
GROTON- TRAFFIC SIGNALS, ROUTE 119 (BOSTON ROAD), ROUTE 225 (FORGE VILLAGE RD), SANDY POND ROAD
The purpose of this project is to install a new traffic signal at the four-way intersection of Route 119 (Boston Road), Forge Village Road (Route 225) and Sandy Pond Road in the Town of Groton. The roadway will be reconstructed from the intersection for approximately 560 meters along Route 119 (Boston Road), 180 meters along Forge Village Road (Route 225), 160 meters along Sandy Pond Road and 120 meters along Whiley Road. The work also includes upgrades to the existing drainage system, installation of granite vertical curb and sloped edging, constructing a cement concrete sidewalk with wheelchair ramps, loam and seed, landscaping, signing, pavement markings, safety controls and signing for construction and all other items required to complete the work. The work also includes the demolition and removal of the former Groton Jade Restaurant located on the southeast corner of Sandy Pond Road.
