Project Description:
ERVING- RELOCATION OF A SECTION OF ROUTE 2 AT THE ERVING PAPER MILL
This project consists of the relocation of a 1-mile section of Route 2, approximately 340 feet north of the existing Route 2. The project is located east of the Erving Town Hall near the Erving Paper Mill. The proposed project will improve substandard roadway geometry and inadequate sight distances. The sidewalk will be improved to provide continuity between the Town center and the Paper Mill. The project will eliminate the need for Paper Mill employees to cross Route 2 from the Paper Mill parking lot, and will also reduce the through traffic interference caused by trucks using the Paper Mill loading docks. A left turn lane will be provided on the new Route 2 westbound at the new Paper Mill driveway.
