NEWBURY- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, N-10-010, ROUTE 1A (HIGH ROAD) OVER THE PARKER RIVER

The proposed project will replace the existing bridge in its present location with improvements to the approach roadway. The original design entailed providing one lane of traffic in each direction and a sidewalk during the construction. Based on additional deterioration discovered when the project first commenced, the design was modified to utilize single stage construction with the bridge being closed and all traffic detoured. The formal, signed detour route utilizes Route 133, Route 1 and Hanover Street.
