TOWNSEND- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, BR# T-07-001 SOUTH CENTRAL STREET OVER THE SQUANNACOOK RIVER

The work includes removing the existing superstructure and replacing it with a composite high strength concrete deck supported by prestressed concrete box beams. The substructure will consist of integral abutments constructed behind the existing abutments. The work also includes full depth reconstruction of the roadway approaches approximately 40 meters in length south of the bridge and 30 meters in length north of the bridge. The total length of the project will be 91 meters (298.56 feet). The bridge will be closed during construction and a detour will be provided for abutters.
