CLINTON- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, C-16-003, ROUTE 62 & 70 (BOYLSTON STREET & CHESTNUT STREET) OVER THE NASHUA RIVER

The work under this project consists of the replacement of the Boylston-Chestnut Street bridge (Route 62 & 70) over the Nashua River. The proposed structure will be a two-span bridge similar in width and span lengths to the existing bridge. A 42.5 foot wide bituminous concrete wearing surface and reinforced concrete deck will be supported by steel girders. A new center pier and abutments will be constructed. Stage construction will be used, maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction. The new bridge will be widened approximately 2.7 feet along the west side to facilitate two-lane traffic during construction. A new 6 foot handicap accessible sidewalk will be constructed on both sides of the bridge.
