CHICOPEE- TEMPORARY BRIDGE DECK, BR# C-13-011 ROUTE 141 (MONTGOMERY ST.) OVER THE CHICOPEE RIVER (DEADY MEMORIAL BRIDGE) PHASE I

The work under this Contract consists of replacement of a portion of the existing decking for the Montgomery Street Bridge with a proposed prefabricated concrete and steel deck supported on the existing girders. The work includes the careful removal of the existing bridge deck; installation of temporary utilities; and construction of the new bridge deck, placement of hot mix asphalt, utility relocations, excavation, demolition, temporary barriers, safety controls and signing, modification of the existing traffic pattern; modification to the existing traffic signals at the intersection of Route 141 and Grattan Street; and placement of advance signing to warn motorists of the Route 141 bridge construction.
