WRENTHAM- CONSTRUCTION OF ROUTE I-495/ROUTE 1A RAMPS
The Work consists of the resurfacing, widening, and improvements of approximately 0.68 miles of Route 1A (South Street) from south of the signalized intersection at Wrentham Crossing to a point approximately 400 feet north of the signalized intersection with the I-495 Northbound ramps. The Work also includes the construction of a new approximately 0.5-mile-long entrance ramp from Route 1A northbound to I-495 Southbound.
The proposed work along Route 1A includes full depth pavement widening, mill and overlay, construction of new 10’ wide hot mix asphalt side paths along both of Route 1A and new cement concrete pedestrian curb ramps. The proposed work also includes two new cement concrete retaining walls along Route 1A underneath the I-495 overpasses to support the new side paths. The existing traffic signals at the intersections of Route 1A/Wrentham Crossing, Route 1A/ Wrentham Village Premium Outlets, Route 1A/I-495 Southbound ramps, and Route 1A/I-495 Northbound ramps will be reconstructed.
The proposed work for the new entrance ramp includes embankment placement, full depth construction, and shoulder reconstruction along I-495 Southbound.
