Project Description:
WEST SPRINGFIELD- ROUTE 20 PLANING AND RESURFACING
The project begins 680 feet west of Locus Street and proceeds easterly on Route 20 in West Springfield to the intersection with Kings Highway. The work to be performed includes: coldplaning and resurfacing the roadway and adjacent side streets; adjusting, rebuilding and cleaning drainage structures; excavating existing sidewalks, driveways and asphalt curb; constructing new cement concrete sidewalks and wheelchair ramps; constructing new hot mix asphalt driveway aprons and curb; removing and resetting existing granite curb; replacing guard rail; excavating existing traffic islands and constructing scored concrete pavement traffic islands; providing temporary and permanent pavement markings; and tree trimming. The total project length is approximately 1.7 miles.
