Project Description:
WENHAM- INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS ON ROUTE 97 (TOPSFIELD ROAD) AT CHERRY AND MAPLE STREETS
The purpose of this project is to improve the safety and level of service at this intersection. The proposed work includes installation of a traffic signal system responsive to vehicles on all intersection approaches. The signal will include a pedestrian crossing phase. Topsfield Road will be widened to provide separate (opposing) left turn lanes. Sidewalks and wheelchair ramps will be reconstructed. Signs and pavement markings will be updated. Granite curb will be installed. The roadway pavement will be reclaimed or cold planed and resurfaced, depending on pavement design and life cycle cost comparison.
