FITCHBURG- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, F-04-007, ROUTE 2A (KIMBALL STREET) & SUPERSTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT, F-04-008, RIVER STREET (ST ROUTE 31) OVER THE NASHUA RIVER

The project will replace the existing two-span superstructure of the Route 2A (Kimball Street) over the Nashua River Bridge in the City of Fitchburg. This will be accomplished by removing the pier and replacing it with a single span bridge. Work will also include replacing the substructure and minimal approach roadway work. The work is intended to be done in one stage by employing a detour route. Also, the work will include the superstructure replacement of River Street, Route 31 over Nashua River. The work is intended to be done in two stages.
