Project Description:
GARDNER- WINCHENDON- PEDESTRIAN & BIKE TRAIL CONSTRUCTION & RELATED WORK (NORTH CENTRAL PATHWAY - PHASE IV) INCLUDES W-39-016 & RESURFACING (GARDNER - PHASE III)
This project consists of constructing a shared use path along a segment of the former Boston & Albany Railroad line from the vicinity of its intersection with Summer Street to the vicinity of its intersection with Glenallen Street, a distance of approximately 0.80 miles. The proposed path construction includes rehabilitation of one bridge, drainage system improvements, sidewalk construction, guardrail installation, roadside grading, pavement markings and signs, trailhead parking, landscaping and other incidental work. This is the fourth in a series of planned segments, which, when combined, will provide for a continuous North Central Pathway from Gardner to the New Hampshire border, a distance of approximately 16 miles.
