NEW BEDFORD- RECONSTRUCTION OF HAWTHORNE STREET CORRIDOR (HISTORIC STREET)

Roadway pavement overlay and full depth pavement widening as needed for 1,800 feet along Hawthorn Street is proposed from east of the Dartmouth Town Line to just east of the intersection of Hawthorn Street at Rockdale Avenue. The project also includes intersection upgrades at Brownell Avenue (450 feet) and Rockdale Avenue (400 feet) and traffic signal reconstruction at these locations. Construction of a Multi-Use Path is also proposed along an approximately 1,800 foot long existing gravel footpath in Buttonwood Park, approximately 100 feet north of Hawthorn Street.
