WINCHENDON- MULTI-USE TRAIL CONSTRUCTION (NORTH CENTRAL PATHWAY - PHASE V) INCLUDES W-39-023, W-39-024 & W-39-028
This project consists of the construction of a shared use path in Winchendon from the vicinity of its intersection with North Ashburnham Road to the vicinity of Glenallen Street, a distance of approximately 2.1 miles. The proposed path construction is along lower rail bed and upper rail bed segments of former railroad lines. Along the lower rail bed, it includes refurbishing three bridges over the Millers River with new wood decks and handrails. The project includes installation of park benches, drainage system improvements, guardrail, roadside grading, pavement markings and signs, and other incidental work. This is the fifth in a series of planned segments, which, when combined, will provide for a continuous North Central Pathway from Gardner to the New Hampshire border, a distance of approximately 16 miles.
