ROCKLAND- WEYMOUTH- RECONSTRUCTION OF EAST & WEST PARKWAY (DESIGN-BUILD)
The project consists of the construction of a one mile section of road within the over-all 2.5 mile East-West Parkway/Eastside Connectivity Improvements. The overall project will consist of the construction of a four-lane roadway on new alignment from Route 18 just north of the railroad station, narrowing to 2 lanes at Old Swamp River, and continuing off the base to Reservoir Park Drive in Rockland. Work within the limits of this project begin in Weymouth approximately 1100 feet west of the Weymouth/Rockland line and continues easterly through Rockland for a total project length of one mile. In addition to the roadway construction, work will also include the installation of traffic signals at the westerly limits of the project in Weymouth, installation of a signalized pedestrian crossing, and construction of a four-lane roundabout in Rockland. Also included will be the construction of a shared use path on the northern side of the roadway, a sidewalk on the southern side, and a turtle crossing culvert.
