UXBRIDGE- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, U-02-001, STATE ROUTE 122 (MAIN STREET) OVER THE BLACKSTONE RIVER
The project consists of replacing the existing bridge that carries Route 122 (Main Street) over the Blackstone River in Uxbridge, and the associated approach roadway. The existing concrete bridge which was built in 1931 is about 125 feet long, has a 41-foot curb-to-curb width and is in poor condition. The proposed replacement is a single-span steel beam structure supported on concrete abutments. To minimize impact, the new bridge will be established on the existing footprint and right-of-way, and so will be approximately 44 feet wide, with a 6.5 foot sidewalk located on the north side.
