SOMERVILLE- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, S-17-025, ROUTE 28 (MCGRATH HIGHWAY) OVER GILMAN STREET (AKA - GILMAN STREET BRIDGE)

The expected work for this project shall consist of, but not be limited to removing and replacing the superstructure. The proposed bridge will have two sidewalks, 3 lanes each way and a raised median. Also included will be a new bridge barrier screen along the existing retaining wall, across the bridge, and on to the first intersection to the north. The work is expected to be done in multiple stages while maintaining traffic during all stages of construction. One pedestrian sidewalk, 5.5’ minimum shall be available. Two travel lanes on McGrath Highway in each direction is a minimum. Gilman Street is expected to be closed to traffic during all stage of construction.
