Project Description:
SHREWSBURY- WORCESTER- BRIDGE REHABILITATION, S-14-001=W-44-018, STATE ROUTE 9 (BELMONT STREET) OVER LAKE QUINSIGAMOND (AKA - KENNETH F. BURNS BRIDGE)
The objective of the proposed project is to address the structural deficiencies and upgrade the structural capacity of the bridge where appropriate. The design will make accommodations for the sidewalk approaches to meet ADA standards. The proposed project will respect the documented historic status of the existing structure. The proposed work will include the preparation of an Environmental Assessment (EA) in accordance with the NEPA process and an Environmental Notification Form will be prepared that complies with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) and its associated regulations (301 CMR 11.00). The project will also include the preparation of a Programmatic Section 4(f) Evaluation in accordance with 4(f) evaluation criteria. Wetland resource areas will be delineated in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (MGL c. 131 § 40). Information, documentation and support will be prepared and provided to MHD to assist the Department in a Section 106 review process for the project.
