COHASSET- HINGHAM- HULL- CULVERT REPLACEMENT, C-17-004, ROUTE 228 OVER STRAITS CHANNEL

This project includes the replacement of the existing West Corner Culvert and sluice gates, located at the Hull/Hingham/Cohasset Town Lines. The project will provide ecological benefits to Straits Pond and reduce flooding potential. The project also includes: roadway reconstruction, retaining walls, installation of sidewalks, granite curbing and driveways, drainage system upgrades, waterline replacement, sanitary sewer line replacement, installation of guardrail, traffic signs, and pavement markings. The approach roadway to the bridge will meet the existing grading. The horizontal alignment will remain essentially the same. The total length of the roadway reconstruction is approximately 870 feet. The bridge will be closed during construction for the certain construction activity and a temporary detour will be established. A single lane of traffic will be used on the bridge for the utility relocations.
