Project Description:
LAWRENCE- BRIDGE BETTERMENT, L-04-001, ROUTE 28 (BROADWAY) OVER THE MERRIMACK RIVER
The proposed work for the betterment of Route 28 over the Merrimack River project consists of reconstructing the bridge and approach wearing surface; removal and replacement of the reinforced concrete deck slab; and upgrading the bridge and approach guard rails. The existing steel shall be cleaned and painted, and lighting standards replaced. The sidewalk supports and catwalks will also be replaced as needed. Concrete deterioration in the bridge piers, abutments and walls will also be repaired. The work will be performed in three stages with one lane of traffic opened in each direction and one sidewalk to be open at all times for pedestrians.
