FITCHBURG- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, F-04-003, STATE ROUTE 31 OVER PHILLIPS BROOK

The expected work for this project shall consist of, but not be limited to the following: 1. The superstructure shall be removed and replaced with precast concrete spread box beams composite with an 8" HP 4000 psi concrete deck and a 3.5" HMA wearing surface. 2. The proposed curb to curb roadway width shall be 36 feet with two 6.5 foot sidewalks 3. The minimun under clearance of the bridge cannot be reduced. 4. The existing beam seats ate to be removed and re-cast to accomodate the new superstructure using Bridge Manual details. 5. The existing bridge railing shall be removed and replaced with S3-TL4 railing 6. Major substructure cracks shall be grouted and major concrete spalls patched 7. Utility bays to accommodate all existing conduits and future utilities as required in the proposed superstructure shall be provided. 8. Abandoned steam pipeline shall be removed. 9. Existing bridge alignment shall remian unchanged.
