DENNIS- BRIDGE REPLACEMENTS, D-07-001 & D-07-006, UPPER COUNTY ROAD & MAIN STREET (SR 28) OVER SWAN POND RIVER

The bridge carrying Upper County Road over the Swan Pond River is to be replaced with a three-span continuous superstructure. The existing abutments shall be removed and new abutments semi-integral with the superstructure and supported on steel H piles using the Bridge Manual details. Precast butted deck beams shall be used to minimize an increase in highway profile. The existing Main Street Bridge over Swan Pond River is to be replaced with a three-span continuous superstructure system. The curb-to-curb width of the bridge shall be 40 feet, with a 6 foot sidewalk on both sides. To minimize the depth of the superstructure, precast butted deck beams are to be used. During construction traffic will be shifted to a temporary bridge that will be built to the south of the existing bridge.
