Project Description:
LYNN- REVERE- ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL REPLACEMENT AND STRUCTURAL REPAIRS ON L-18-015=R-05-08, ROUTE 1A OVER THE SAUGUS RIVER (GENERAL EDWARDS DRAWBRIDGE)
The General Edwards Drawbridge is located on North Shore Road (Route 1A) over the Saugus River in Lynn/Revere. The proposed project consists of the repair/replacement of electrical and mechanical operating machinery of the drawbridge, rehabilitation and architectural repairs to the operator’s rooms and tower, miscellaneous granite repairs, and various structural steel repairs. Traffic lane closures or detours are not expected to be required. The drawbridge will not be operational (unable to be raised) for several months during the winter.
