PALMER- BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, P-01-024, PARK STREET (ROUTE 20) OVER CSX RR & BOSTON ROAD (ROUTE 67 NB) INCLUDING DEMOLITION

The partially completed original construction contract (Project #111309; contract #38898) to replace bridge P-01-024 has been terminated. This new project will complete the bridge construction and approach roadway work. The partially constructed new bridge is at approximately 60% of its design width. Demolition of the old bridge will be part of this project. Additional work to be completed under this project will include: the new bridge structure (partial), approach sidewalks and wheelchair ramps, earthwork, grading and a retaining wall on the unfinished side of the bridge, approach guardrail and signing. Roadwork will include tack coat and HMA top course in some locations, full depth reconstruction in others, along with granite curbing, berm, drainage installation and adjustment of drainage structures at various locations. Finish work will include loam and seed, slope paving under bridge, driveway modification, chain link fence, granite bound installation, pavement markings and resetting mailboxes.
