Project Description:
WILLIAMSTOWN- RECONSTRUCTION & RELATED WORK ON ROUTE 43 (WATER STREET)
The proposed project will reconstruct and widen Water Street from Heating Plant Drive to 800 ft south of Meachum Street (0.43 mi). The current proposal calls for widening the roadway from 27 ft to 31 ft. Also proposed is a parallel parking lane (8 ft) on the west side of the roadway from Heating Plant Drive to Meachum St. The existing deteriorated bituminous concrete sidewalks and curbs will be replaced with 5’ wide cement concrete sidewalks and granite curbing on both sides of the roadway. The existing pavement will be milled and the entire roadway will be overlaid curb to curb. Streetscape elements including new lighting and a bus stop/shelter are also proposed.
