Project Description:
NEW BEDFORD- MULTIMODAL (LANDSIDE & WATERSIDE) POWER ELECTRIFICATION FOR COMMERCIAL FISHING PIERS
The proposed project consists of the multimodal power electrification (landside and waterside) of Fisherman’s Wharf in New Bedford Harbor. The power electrification will be available on the commercial fishing pier for multimodal transportation use including commercial boats and trucks. The improvements will include the following: • Location 1- Fisherman’s Wharf: The work at this location includes the installation of a transformer vault, construction of an electrical system network for power distribution to various pedestal outlets, and installation of nine (9) electrical pedestals equipped with receptacles for landside and waterside use. • Location 2- Homer’s Wharf: The work at this location includes the installation of a precast concrete switchgear vault, and construction of an electrical system network to furnish power from an existing NSTAR electric manhole to the switchgear vault.
