PETERSHAM- RESURFACING & RELATED WORK ON ROUTE 32, FROM BARRE T.L. TO 1 MILE NORTH OF ROUTE 101

The project consists of pavement milling and resurfacing and related work on a section of Route 32 in Petersham. The project begins at Route 32 Mile Marker 39.023 at the Petersham/Barre Town Line and continues to Mile Marker 44.900. Bridge P-08-001(190) over the Swift River Branch has been recently reconstructed and the limits of that project, from MM 40.225 to MM 40.342, are not included in this resurfacing project. The total length of the project is 5.88 miles. The work will be done in two sections: Section 1 from the Barre line to Rt. 101 will be milled 2" and resurfaced with 2" of hot mix asphalt; Section 2 from Rt. 101 to MM 44.900 will be milled 3" and resurfaced with a 2" HMA intermediate course and a 2" HMA top course. Existing subdrain in Section 2 will be replaced. Related work on the project will include adjusting, rebuilding, and cleaning drainage structures; removing and resetting edging, curb, and curb inlets; replacing hot mix asphalt berm; installing new guardrail end treatments; installing, removing, and resetting guardrail; grading, compacting, and filling shoulders; constructing wheelchair ramps; installing pavement markings; installing recessed pavement markers; installing construction traffic management devices; and erosion & sedimentation control.
