SWAMPSCOTT- SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (STANLEY SCHOOL)

The project will reduce the crossing distance for pedestrians at the intersection of Humphrey Street and Salem Street by introducing a pedestrian refuge median. New crosswalks and signs will also be included. The pedestrian crossing distances on Orchard Road will be reduced by installing curb bump-outs at crosswalks and reducing the curb radii at intersecting streets. Orchard Road will be restriped to better define the parking lane and travel lane. New ADA-compliant ramps and school zone crossing signs will be also be added.
