Project Description:
BUCKLAND- SHELBURNE- BRIDGE PRESERVATION, B-28-022=S-11-001, ROUTE 2A (BRIDGE STREET) OVER DEERFIELD RIVER
The work for the bridge carrying Route 2a over the Deerfield River in Buckland consists of removal and replacement of the 3/8” Flexogrid wearing surfac, installing new wearing surface on sidewalk; reconstructing the bridge approach pavement; providing new approach sidewalk; repairing the deep spall in the deck or at the deck joints and removing all sand; cleaning and/or repairing floorbeams sidewalk brackets that have corrosion crack or section loss; cleaning and/or repairing (heat straightening steel where required) all structural steel elements including railing with impact damage, missing lattice, loose fasteners and truss members lower chord (web & flange) that have section loss, corrosion holes, or collision damage; replacing all missing/broken fasteners from the lateral bracing; removing either from the bridge seat or the scuppers all sand and debris or vegetation growth; patching all cracks in the pier caps. Approach work shall consist of milling and paving approximately 100’ on either side of the bridge. All approach railing and terminal ends shall be upgraded as per latest standard.
