Project Description:
AMHERST- SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (WILDWOOD ELEMENTARY & AMHERST REGIONAL MIDDLE SCHOOL)
The proposed pedestrian safety/access improvement project will include a pedestrian flashing assembly and upgraded crossing at East Pleasant Street and Strong Street, approximately 1100’ of sidewalk with a grass panel on the west side of the Amherst Middle School Driveway and a raised crossing and new bike shelter at the Wildwood Elementary School entrance. The proposed improvements will also include upgraded wheelchair ramps, new pavement markings, new traffic and pedestrian warning signs, and some minor drainage modifications.
