Project Description:
BOSTON- BRIDGE SUPERSTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT AND WIDENING, B-16-052, BOWKER OVERPASS OVER I-90, MBTA/CSX AND IPSWICH STREET
The project will replace the Bowker Overpass superstructure over I-90, MBTA/CSX rail lines, and Ipswich Street. Substructure rehabilitation for the Bowker Overpass is included to improve the structure's overall condition. The project will also relocate connections between Charlesgate East and Bowker to Charlesgate West as well as provide a new shared-use path for non-motorized traffic. New structures are planned to accommodate these elements. The project includes removal of the off ramp over the Muddy River and significant landscaping on the shared-use path structure and bridge approaches.
