Project Description:
The project will construct a multi-use trail along the City Branch former rail. The path will begin at the existing board walk near the Custom House Maritime Museum in Downtown Newburyport following the Merrimack River then turning inland across Water Street between Bromfield Street and Harrison Street and continue along the rail bed to Route 1A (High Street). The length will be approximately 1.1 miles. An option of extending this section of the path to Parker Street is being considered. This section would add approximately 1/2 mile to the path.
