Project Description:
NORTHAMPTON- TRANSIT SIGNAL PRIORITY SYSTEM INSTALLATION ON ROUTE 9
The proposed project would install a transit signal priority system (TSP) at ten signalized intersections on Route 9 from the VA Hospital to Hawley St/Market Street. The system would extend the green time at an intersection as a bus approaches allowing the queue to clear and the bus to proceed without delay. No geometric improvements are proposed. The majority of the improvements are to the traffic signal equipment.
