WAKEFIELD- SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS (DOLBEARE SCHOOL)

The proposed improvements include the construction of sidewalks in the following locations surrounding the Dolbeare School: east side of Vernon Street between Lowell Street and Sesame Street, west side of Vernon Street between Lowell Street and school driveway, north side of Lowell Street between Vernon Street and westerly school driveway. The project also includes installation of a pedestrian flasher assembly on Lowell Street in front of the school, installation of pedestrian countdown signals at the Lowell Street / Vernon Street intersection, reconstruction of the Shell gas station driveways to reduce the length of pedestrian crossings, instillation of bike racks and better define curb cuts, and construction of sidewalk connections between Lowell Street and Vernon Street and the school entrances.
