CHARLEMONT- SAVOY- EMERGENCY ROADWAY STABILIZATION ON ROUTE 2 FROM MM 23.5 (F-05-005) TO MM 27.4 (C-05-024 RR BRIDGE)

This emergency repair contract consists of removing landslide debris (trees, rocks, earth, vehicles, etc.) that is on the roadway; and removing additional material from the slope at landslide locations to stabilize these areas and prevent additional material from sliding onto the roadway. The project also includes rip-rap revetment for slope stabilization. Sub-base repair will consist of geotextile placement where needed, replacing granular base material that was washed away, and reconstructing roadway pavement, as required. The project will also replace traffic lines/signs as needed for normal traffic operation. The goal is to get the roadway open to traffic by December 1, 2011.
