BOXFORD- RECONSTRUCTION ON ROUTE 133 (WASHINGTON STREET) FROM THE NORTH ANDOVER TL TO MAIN STREET

The project will reconstruct Route 133 (Washington Street) from the North Andover town line to Main Street, approximately 1.45 miles. The project will widen the existing pavement width to 30 feet to include two 11-foot lanes and two four-foot shared bicycle/pedestrian lanes and reconfigure three intersections to “T” type intersections. These are Washington Street at Main Street, at Essex Road and at Lakeshore Road. The project will also replace substandard and damaged guardrail, add new guardrail where needed, add sidewalks in the Village District area, add an overhead flashing warning beacon at Main Street, upgrade the existing drainage system to deep sump catch basins, upgrade and extend a 48” culvert and headwalls with an open bottom and stepped culvert.
