Project Description:
PITTSFIELD- SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (CONTE COMMUNITY SCHOOL)
The proposed project consists of converting the existing 2-way Atlantic Street/South Atlantic Street (from West Union Street to Linden Street) to a one-way street (southbound) in order to construct a new sidewalk along its west side. The street will be 20 feet wide, and will include shared lane signing in accordance with applicable design guides. The proposed sidewalk will extend from West Union Street to Station 61+75 on Summit Avenue. Additional improvements will include providing a pavement overlay as well as drainage improvements. ADA-compliant wheelchair ramps as well as MUTCD-compliant pavement markings, and signage will also be provided.
