SEEKONK- INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS & RELATED WORK AT FALL RIVER AVENUE (ROUTE 114A) AND COUNTY STREET

This project is intended to address ongoing capacity constraints and a lack of adequate pedestrian facilities at the intersection. The intersection lacks adequate capacity to process 24,000 vehicles daily. Both the NB and SB Fall River Avenue approaches to County Street and the County Street EB approach to Fall River Avenue need dedicated left turn lanes with appropriate signal phasing. In addition, the construction of refuge lanes on the Fall River Avenue approaches to County Street are proposed. Also, sidewalks and crosswalks need rehabilitation and pedestrian activated traffic signals are proposed.
