NORTH ANDOVER- SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (NORTH ANDOVER MIDDLE SCHOOL)

The project includes the construction of a sidewalk along the southerly side of Parker Street between Greene Street and the North Andover Middle School parking lot and along the southerly side of Greene Street between Massachusetts Avenue and Faulkner Road. The intersection of Greene Street and Parker Street will be reconstructed to provide better alignment and shorter pedestrian crossings. The Greene Street easterly approach to Massachusetts Avenue will be reconstructed to create a standard T-type intersection. The Greene Street westerly approach to Massachusetts Avenue will be reconstructed to provide better alignment with Mifflin Drive and a reduction in pavement width. The construction of a crosswalk on Massachusetts Avenue just south of Greene Street will allow pedestrians to access the North Andover Middle School and Atkinson Elementary Schools. These improvements will include installation of ADA-compliant wheelchair ramps and installation of MUTCD-compliant signs and pavement markings.
