BOSTON- CURTAIN WALL ANCHOR REPAIRS ON VARIOUS CA/T STRUCTURES AND ALBANY STREET EXTENSION FILL REMEDIATION (CRC 26)
Project to be funded with possible trust fund. Scope for this project includes investigation, design, bidding, construction, administration, and traffic control to implement solutions to repair the two deficiencies within the CA/T Project limits. Scope (A): the Stem to Stern report identified issue CV22 Precast Curtain Wall Anchors. At certain miscellaneous locations, anchors in the precast curtain wall panels are loosening, apparently due to traffic vibration. The very worst cases were replaced and repaired during the Stem to Stern process, but the remaining anchors were to be monitored and repaired. Scope (B): MassDOT maintenance crews discovered that the protective wall sections that protect the Styrofoam fill sections of the Albany Street Extension are starting to peel. The Styrofoam is becoming exposed and the covering on the panel is beginning to peel. This was discovered in the area between Ramp U (I90 Collector to Albany Street) and Albany Street Extension. Settlement of the walls appears to be the reason the foam is showing. The scope of work will include design services to review and design the repairs, and construction services to perform the repair.
