ADAMS- ASHUWILLTICOOK RAIL TRAIL EXTENSION

Replaces #605041. The proposed rail-trail extension would begin at Hoosac Street (the northern terminus of the existing trail) and would end at Lime Street - a distance of approximately 1.2 miles. MassHighway would provide design and oversee construction of the project. The existing Ashuwillticook Rail Trail runs from the Pittsfield/Lanesborough town-line, through Cheshire, and into Adams, ending at the Adams Visitor Center on Hoosac Street. A portion of the preferred alignment in the town of Adams is already recognized and used by the community as a bike/ped connection for residential neighborhoods to the local middle school and municipal parks.
