CHELMSFORD- INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT ROUTE 129 AND RIVERNECK ROAD

The project will reconstruction Route 129 from Golden Cove Road to Industrial Avenue including rehabilitating the roadway surface, widening to include two 5 foot bike lanes and adding sidewalks on both sides. The intersection at Billerica Road will be realigned to form a T intersection. A rapid flashing beacon will be installed at the crosswalk near Industrial Avenue. Retaining walls will be installed to minimize impacts at River Meadow Brook and at the cemetery. A box culvert will be installed at the River Meadow Brook crossing of Billerica Road which will include a wildlife crossing. New drainage and stormwater detention will be included in the design.
