The scope of work along Common Street and Lowell Street is limited to traffic signal and ADA compliance upgrades at nine (9) intersections. These are Common Street at Franklin, at Hampshire, at Amesbury, at Lawrence, at Jackson and at Newbury; Lowell Street at Franklin, at Hampshire and at Amesbury. The project also includes pedestrian crossings at two (2) Common Street mid-block at City Hall to Campagnone Commons and at two (2) Winthrop Avenue (Route 114) @ Durso Avenue & 300’ to the south. The two Common Street mid-block crossings from City Hall to the Campagnone Commons (between Lawrence and Jackson) will be reconstructed with curb bump-outs, ADA compliant wheelchair ramps, pavement markings, signs and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB). The Route 114 pedestrian crossings will be evaluated for the installation of a RRFB at Durso Avenue and 300’ to the south.
